Following last year’s successful Strategic Research Clusters, SFI has just launched a second call of the SRC programme.
The time-line for the programme this year is pretty tight, with the first deadline for Expressions of Interest on February 29th, and the Pre-proposal submission following shortly on March 10th.
Would-be applicants are advised to prepare their various submissions as soon as possible.
From the SFI website:
The SRC programme has been designed to facilitate the clustering of outstanding researchers to carry out joint research activities in areas of strategic importance to Ireland, while also giving the time and resources to attract and cultivate strong industry partnerships that can inform and enhance their research programmes. Submissions are invited in areas of science or engineering research that underpin the Information and Communication Technologies (ICT), or Biotechnology sectors. Additionally (and following consultation with a wide variety of key stakeholders), SFI will also consider submissions in the area of Financial Mathematics in the 2008 SRC Competition.
Refer to the appropriate section of the SFI website for full details.
