There have been a few articles published about SFI recently.
The Sunday Business Post just published one entitled SFI awards researchers grants worth €825 million. GalwayFirst publishes a similar article, albeit with a more Galway-focused view (not surprisingly, I guess).
Back with the SB Post, they have an interesting article profiling Frank Gannon, the new SFI Director General. Definitely worth a read.

The problem with SFI is that they are lloking for incremenal research. Novel and radical ideas have no room, due to the rules and process applied. If we want to REALLY make a DIFFERENCE, we need to change this.
Mikael,
I’m not sure that I’d agree with that comment - but I’m sure you’d say that I’d say that anyway.
What do you mean by the "rules and the process applied", and how does that eliminate novel and radical research ideas?
We’re always looking for ways to fund innovative research that will give Ireland a cutting edge, so if we’re excluding such ideas, I agree that we need to change it.
